COVID-19 CRISIS: MONTREAL COMICCON POSTPONES ITS 12TH EDITION TO 2021

MONTREAL (QC), April 20, 2020 – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and following the Quebec government’s request to cancel all summer festivals and events until August 31, Montreal Comiccon announces that its twelfth edition, originally scheduled for July 3 to 5, 2020, will be postponed to next year, from July 9 to 11, 2021.

“For pop culture fans, Montreal Comiccon is a not-to-be missed summer event. We did not relish coming to this, but it is the right thing to do, because the safety of our attendees, exhibitors, partners and staff is paramount,” said Alex La Prova, the event’s co-founder.

The current situation is certainly difficult for the entire festival and event industry, but Comiccon’s leadership team looks to the future with hope and optimism. “Great things can arise from adversity. This crisis is an opportunity for us to reinvent ourselves. We will come back even stronger and continue to participate in Montreal’s cultural, economic, and touristic influence,” added Mr. La Prova.

More details on the 2021 edition will be released in the coming months.
