Bio
Peter Weller is an American actor and television director, best known for playing the title character in the film RoboCop (1987) and its sequel RoboCop 2 (1990). He reprised his role as RoboCop by providing his voice for two video games, including WB’s Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019 and Nacon’s RoboCop: Rogue City in 2023.
Weller’s feature films include The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984), David Cronenberg's adaptation of William Burroughs's novel Naked Lunch (1991), the Oliver Stone-produced The New Age (1994), Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite (1995), Christian Duguay’s Screamers (1995) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013).
On television he played Christopher Henderson in the fifth season of 24, Stan Liddy in the fifth season of the Showtime original series Dexter, and Charles "Charlie" Barosky in the sixth season of Sons of Anarchy. He was involved in the A&E (then Netflix) series Longmire as a director and actor. In 2017, he appeared on The Last Ship as Dr. Paul Vellek and directed several episodes. In 2022, he appeared in one chapter of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities horror anthology.
In addition, he provided the voice to Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (2012-13), an American two-part adult animated film, an adaptation of the 1986 comic book of the same name by Frank Miller.
He holds a Ph.D. in Italian Renaissance Art History from UCLA.
