Bio

Jim Starlin is a legendary writer and artist, who for five decades created his own footsteps in comics. He has worked with every major publisher, Starlin is responsible for the creation of characters and concepts including Thanos, Gamora, Drax, Shang-Chi, the Infinity Gauntlet, and many more. But in many ways his most personal creation is cosmic hero Vanth Dreadstar, last survivor of the Milky Way galaxy.

Some of his most popular storylines include:

“A Death in the Family” (Batman #426-429) written by Starlin with art by Jim Aparo and Mike DeCarlo, this is the storyline where readers got to vote to decide Jason Todd's fate. By a small margin, they voted for him dying, which is just what happened, and Batman would never quite be the same again.

"The Metamorphosis Odyssey: Book One" (Epic Illustrated #1-9) Effectively the prelude to Dreadstar, this storyline (written and painted by Starlin) was Starlin's first expansive creator-owned work.

Infinity Gauntlet (#1-6)
Written by Starlin, with art by George Perez, Ron Lim and Joe Rubinstein, this smash-hit mini-series has Thanos, a villain obsessed with Death gets control of the most powerful object in the galaxy. Adam Warlock must lead the heroes of Earth in a battle against the power-mad titan.

"The Death of Captain Marvel" Marvel Graphic Novel #1
Written and drawn by Jim Starlin, it follows Mar-Vell, the superhero Captain Marvel, as he comes to accept his impending death from cancer. The Death of Captain Marvel saw wide acclaim and has been described as the defining story of Mar-Vell's character. A mature, touching look at how a hero handles death.
