Bio

Dominic Monaghan is a British-Irish actor best known for playing the hobbit Meriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy The Lord of the Rings and Charlie Pace on J. J. Abrams’ global hit series Lost.

Monaghan first gained fame as Hetty Wainthropp’s sidekick Geoffrey Shawcross on the BBC series Hetty Wainthropp Investigates.

Following his work in The Lord of the Rings films, he appeared in an array of feature films, including Spivs (2004), Shooting Livien (2005), and I Sell the Dead (2008). In 2009, he appeared alongside Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Durand, and Liv Schreiber in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He later appeared in The Day (2011) with Shawn Ashmore, Soldiers of Fortune (2012), with Christian Slater, Sean Bean, and Ving Rhames, as well as Duncan Jones’ neo-noir sci-fi film Mute (2018), with Alexander Skarsgård, Paul Rudd, Justin Theroux, Robert Sheehan, and Noel Clarke. He reunited with Lost co-creator, J.J. Abrams for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) playing professor Beaumont Kin.

On television, he had starring or guest starring roles in FlashForward, Children’s Hospital, 100 Code, andMoonhaven. He also has hosted the nature program Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan for three season, ffor Channel 5 and BBC America. He has also done voice work for The Legend of Vox Machina and Angry Birds Mystery Island, not for Prime, as well as voice and motion capture work for Quantum Break and Call of Duty: Vanguard.

More recently, Dominic Monaghan was seen with his sidekick Billy Boyd in their brand new documentary series Billy and Dom Eat the World, in which the two friends wander on foot around the world in search of the best food.
